Why everyone in fashion is fundraising for Katie Grand right now

From designer Marc Jacobs and supermodels Eva Herzigova, Adriana Lima, Emily Ratajkowski and Karen Elson to photographers Tim Walker and Alasdair McLellan, the list of celebrities donating on Katie Grand’s Just Giving page is as long as the 26-mile inner-city track Katie Grand will run this coming Sunday at Madrid’s Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon.

‘You’re INSANE,’ says one donation comment from Edie Campbell. ‘The only marathon I’ve ever finished is now called a Snickers,’ writes fashion critic Alexander Fury.

Katie Grand is the very same editor who walks the two hours across London from her home to LOVE’s Clerkenwell office in precarious 10-inch Vetements boots without a second thought, so her donators can be assured of one thing: if anyone can do it, Grand can do it.

‘I’m terrified,’ she revealed. ‘It’s the most nervous I’ve been in a long time.’

Grand will be running for the charity Cancer Research Birmingham, but aside from the great cause, what on earth made her want to run a marathon? ‘I was at a place called the Ranch in Malibu and was running 15 miles a day by the end and just thought, if I can do that I might be able to do a marathon and raise some money for charity,’ Grand told Tatler.com.

After the Ranch, while holidaying in Kenya, Katie trained some more at a vast nature reserve with some keen Kenyan runners – who were there to egg her on but also to fend off any over-eager wildlife attempting to join her on her morning jogs.
