Where was the royal baby born?

Following the births of both Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth for the third time at the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. Guy Thorpe-Beeston, surgeon gynaecologist to the Royal Household, led the medical team in delivering the royal baby as he did with Princess Charlotte. Consultant gynaecologist Alan Farthing oversaw the birth.

Crowd barriers have been placed on the street outside the steps of the Lindo Wing for royal-watchers, photographers and journalists awaiting the moment the couple appear with their new bundle.

Giving birth at the Lindo Wing would currently cost £5,215 for the first 24 hours (if a baby is born naturally), or £6,745 for a Caesarean section, plus £1,155 for the deluxe package for each additional night.

What will the royal baby’s name be?

How will the new baby affect the line of succession?

The new royal baby will be fifth in line to the throne, behind the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The re-shuffle will see Prince Harry drop down to sixth in line, and every other member of the Royal Family will be one step further away from the throne.

The new baby will be an HRH and a Prince of Cambridge.
