There are many cool places to stay in Palm Springs but I feel that the Avalon really nails Fifties elegance. The hotel is owned by celebrity interior designer Kelly Wearstler who has worked with the original Thirties features to create an oasis with bursts of colour, white wicker chairs and perfectly manicured hedges. The hotel prides itself on offering fresh, healthy Californian food with crab avocado salads and tuna poké. To stay here after Coachella would be the dream.
